On the afternoon of January 2nd, the hostel held a themed lecture on Future Planning for College Students in the Wenbei 200 Hall. The speaker was Professor Chen Mingxiang from Washington State University, and Vice Dean Sun Jingrong of the hostel presided over the lecture. More than 100 students listened to the lecture.
In the lecture, Professor Chen Mingxiang combined his academic and industry experience to analyze the current development trends and prospects of the tourism industry in a clear and concise manner, revealing the vast stage and infinite possibilities of the tourism management profession to the students. Professor Chen Mingxiang elaborated on the core issue of college students' future planning from multiple dimensions, including academic planning, career planning, and personal ability enhancement. He emphasized the importance of clear goals, developing plans, continuous learning, and the courage to practice, encouraging students to cherish their college time, actively broaden their horizons, and strive to improve themselves. During the interactive session, students actively asked questions, and Professor Chen Mingxiang patiently answered, creating a lively atmosphere on site. Professor Chen Mingxiang not only provided practical advice and guidance to students, but also shared some of his experiences and insights in life planning, which greatly benefited them.
This lecture not only deepened the students' understanding and comprehension of their major, but also pointed out the direction for their future planning. Students have expressed that they will take this lecture as an opportunity to carefully plan their college life and future career paths.
