On November 28th, the Academic Affairs Office organized the eighth New Liberal Arts special demonstration class to observe and exchange teaching and research activities. Teacher Liu Jiaxue, school of Tourism and Social Management, taught the demonstration course of Tourism Consumer Behavior. The demonstration class was attended by school leaders, principals from the Academic Affairs Office, newly recruited teachers from various colleges, and hostel administrators.
Teacher Lius course is open to second grade students majoring in tourism management. The course employs a bilingual teaching approach, utilizing both Chinese and English, to elaborate on the multi-attribute model within the attitude measurement framework. With a student-centered approach, the course adeptly incorporates tourism decision-making behaviors that resonate with daily life, progressively leading students to grasp the fundamental principles of the multi-attribute model. Furthermore, by taking the hotel decision-making process as an illustrative example, the course vividly demonstrates the various attributes and aspects involved.ibutes with the help of AI tools, thereby enabling students to practice applying multi-attribute models in real-world scenarios and explore ways to refine marketing strategies based on model outcomes. The course ends with project-based homework, and students are required to take the selection of cultural and creative products as an example and personally use multi-attribute models to analyze and make decisions. This link not only consolidates the students theoretical knowledge, but also exercises their pracritical ability and innovative thinking.
After class, the participating teachers conducted course evaluations and exchanges, jointly discussing the highlights and shortcomings of the course, as well as curriculum design, bilingual teaching, gender-inclusive education, and the application of artificial intelligence in intelligent teaching, all of which provided valuable experience and inspiration for novice teachers. This demonstration course teaching and research activity not only improved the teaching level of teachers, but also further promoted the Under the backdrop of new liberal arts, the School of Liberal Arts has embarked on teaching reform and innovation, breathing new life into the nurturing of internationally-minded, innovative composite talents.
