Dr. Shang Ziye, a faculty member in the Tourism Management program at the School of Tourism and Social Management, recently published a paper titled Subdivisions and Causes of Alienated Travel Experience in the 105th volume of the prestigious tourism academic journal Annals of Tourism Research. The paper analyzes the widespread phenomenon of alienation in contemporary tourism activities, fills a gap in the research field of alienated tourism experience, and provides a new perspective for understanding tourist psychology and behavior.
As tourism has become one of the most popular leisure activities in modern society, the complex psychological experiences behind it have gradually attracted the attention of the academic community. This research systematically explores various subtypes of alienation in tourism experience and their underlying causes by introducing an alienation model constructed through General System Theory. The study proposes a comprehensive framework for alienated tourism experience, emphasizing that tourism activities are both the birthplace of new forms of alienation and an extension of alienation phenomena in daily life.
The inclusion and publication of this paper in Annals of Tourism Research, a top journal in the field of tourism research, is a recognition of the research and academic level of our school's tourism management program. The school hopes to achieve more breakthrough results in tourism research and other related fields in the future, contributing more wisdom and strength to these areas.
